Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention and control activities across the community hospital setting
• Monitor and evaluate infection surveillance data, identify trends, and drive improvement
• Collaborate with Operating Room and Sterile Processing teams to ensure compliance with best practices
• Educate staff on infection control policies, procedures, and outbreak response
• Participate in audits, policy development, and multidisciplinary committees to improve patient safety

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Infection Control within a hospital setting, with strong exposure to Operating Room and Sterile Processing workflows
• Comfort working across departments to implement and sustain infection prevention practices
• Strong communication skills to educate and influence clinical teams
• Preferred: Active RN license and/or prior nursing background (preferred but not strictly required)
• Preferred: Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or equivalent infection prevention training

Education

• Nursing degree or equivalent clinical experience preferred (ASN/BSN welcomed)

• Infection Control principles and surveillance
• Operating Room infection prevention practices
• Sterile Processing standards and workflow
• Policy development, audit processes, and staff education
• Data-driven problem solving and interdisciplinary collaboration
