Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents while preserving dignity
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and document resident condition and report changes to nursing staff
• Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
• Follow facility policies, infection control procedures, and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks, TB screening, and any required health clearances
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a supportive care team

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care and elder needs
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility
• Basic documentation and observational skills
• Competence in infection control and safety procedures
• Good interpersonal skills for resident and family interactions
