Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with daily living activities
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support meal service and ensure residents are comfortable during mealtimes
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and resident interactions
• Help create a calm, respectful environment that supports dignity and independence
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to follow care plans

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent credential required
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings (immunizations, TB, etc.)
• Comfortable working with older adults and basic experience in long-term or geriatric care preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; reliability and a caring attitude are a must

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic resident care, bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility assistance
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Accurate charting and basic documentation skills
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
• Good interpersonal skills for resident and family interactions
