Roles & Responsibilities

Provide thorough patient assessments for newborns through geriatrics and develop appropriate treatment plans following adopted clinical protocols
Deliver primary care services under the supervision of licensed physicians and consult with them for complex cases
Perform diagnosis, management, and follow-up care while documenting findings clearly and comprehensively in the medical record
Educate patients and families on prevention, treatment plans, and self-care to improve outcomes and patient engagement
Coordinate care and referrals with other providers and community resources to ensure continuity and comprehensive care
Maintain professional standards by staying current with clinical protocols and participating in clinic quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

Current California RN and Nurse Practitioner license required
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Primary Care clinic experience required; experience across the lifespan (newborns to geriatrics)
Current AHA BLS certification required
AHA ACLS certification required if submitting privileges for inpatient settings
Board certification by ANCC, AANP, PNCB, NCC (OB/GYN/Neonatal), or AACN is preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

Education

Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (meets Board of Registered Nursing standards)
Current AHA BLS (required); AHA ACLS if inpatient privileges anticipated

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and clinical decision-making across lifespan
Familiarity with adopted clinical protocols and treatment planning
Primary care fundamentals and chronic disease management
Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising physicians and multidisciplinary teams
Pediatric and geriatric care knowledge
Strong communication skills, with bilingual Spanish a plus
