Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming).
- Monitor and record residents' status including vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly.
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to promote independence and prevent falls.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and dignified environment for residents, following infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans.
- Document care accurately and communicate clearly with residents, families, and staff.
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (or eligible) — state registry requirements must be met for Pennsylvania.
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program.
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Comfortable with 8-hour shifts and the physical demands of patient care (standing, lifting with assistance).
- Strong communication, compassion, and teamwork skills.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) assistance and resident personal care
- Basic vital signs measurement and observational skills
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Accurate charting and documentation practices
- Effective interpersonal and team communication
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
