Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance
- Take and record vital signs accurately, reporting any changes to the nursing team
- Assist with activities of daily living while preserving resident dignity and independence
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the resident chart and communicate observations to nurses
- Support safe patient handling and follow infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania (required)
- CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
- Comfort with hands-on patient care and safe lifting practices
- Dependable attendance and a professional approach to resident care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; state CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe patient transfers
- Infection control practices and proper use of PPE
- Accurate documentation and charting habits
- Effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to resident dignity
