Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve residents' functional abilities and activities of daily living
• Assist patients with mobility, strengthening, coordination, and cognitive activities
• Accurately document treatment sessions and patient progress in the clinical record
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Ensure compliance with facility policies and state and federal regulations
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs to support independence

Qualifications

• Active California COTA license required
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• SNF or post-acute care experience preferred
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient-focused care and strong interpersonal skills
• Experience with post-acute and skilled nursing facility workflows
• Proficiency in documenting treatment sessions and measuring patient progress
• Skilled in therapeutic interventions for ADLs, mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive tasks
• Ability to follow supervision and implement OT-developed plans
• Good clinical judgment, time management, and teamwork
