Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the plan of care to support patient function and independence
• Assist in evaluating patients' strengths, limitations, and goals and document progress thoroughly
• Deliver therapeutic activities and adaptive techniques tailored to each patient’s needs
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and families to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies for safety, mobility, and everyday tasks
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the facility’s clinical records system
• Adhere to facility policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Current state credentialing or ability to obtain licensure in Massachusetts
• Proven ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team
• Comfortable working a full schedule that includes weekends (Sun–Sat coverage required)
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background checks as required by the facility
• Strong communication skills for patient and family education

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related healthcare field

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment for daily living
• Skill in patient assessment, documentation, and goal-based treatment planning
• Ability to modify activities for varying levels of cognition and physical ability
• Familiarity with safety and fall-prevention strategies
• Competence in time management for managing caseloads and treatment sessions
• Professionalism in interdisciplinary communication and care coordination
