Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans designed by licensed occupational therapists to help patients regain independence
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities that improve daily living skills
• Document patient progress and adjust interventions under OT supervision
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and equipment use
• Bring energy and compassion to every session - you make a real difference

Qualifications

• Active Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license in New Mexico
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Prior experience in transitional or skilled nursing settings is a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A passion for helping others achieve their goals

Education

• Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and modalities
• Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and adapt as needed
• Strong documentation and time management skills
• Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Creative problem-solving to engage patients in therapy
