Speech Therapist - Acute Care and Inpatient Rehab

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Start Date: 02-16-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, rotating weekends preferred but flexible

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform bedside swallow evaluations to ensure patient safety and nutrition
Conduct video swallow studies when needed for comprehensive assessment
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across acute care and inpatient rehab units
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for diverse patient populations
Document patient progress in Meditech and maintain communication with care teams

Qualifications

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Missouri
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred
Experience with bedside swallow evaluations required
Video swallow evaluation skills preferred
Ability to float between acute care and inpatient rehab units

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in using TIMS equipment for swallowing diagnostics
Knowledge of Meditech documentation system
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to handle a diverse caseload in a level 1 trauma center
