Location: Des Moines, IA

Start Date: 07-27-2026

End Date: 10-25-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend and every other holiday. Must work July 3 and 4.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit, monitoring vital signs and managing life-support equipment
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications, perform assessments, and respond to emergent situations with quick, decisive action
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-discharge care
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA)
TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience preferred
Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and lab values
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high-acuity patients
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
