Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, varying weekends (at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill patients across adult and NICU/Peds units
Manage and monitor advanced ventilators and non-invasive ventilation devices
Perform emergency respiratory interventions and CPR
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
Document patient responses and adjust treatment plans using Cerner EMR
Educate patients and families on respiratory care and equipment

Qualifications

Active North Carolina Respiratory License is required
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification is required
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required
Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
NRP certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in adult and pediatric ventilator management (GE R860, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70)
Experienced with high-flow oxygen devices (Vapotherm, Comfort Flow)
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced Level II trauma center environment
