Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents—assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
• Monitor, record, and report vital signs and any changes in resident condition
• Support safe transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and the care team to advocate for residents
• Document care and observations accurately and promptly in the facility charting system

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED; completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident assistance
• Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation skills
• Infection control, safety procedures, and proper PPE use
• Basic charting and familiarity with electronic or paper-based documentation
• Teamwork, time management, and strong resident advocacy
