Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients, supporting activities of daily living with dignity and respect
• Assist nursing staff with routine clinical tasks and timely documentation
• Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to the care team
• Support safe mobility and transfers, following proper body mechanics and safety protocols
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for patients
• Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (required)
• Active authorization to practice in New Mexico (state registry as applicable)
• Comfort working a 12+ hour day shift (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) and ability to pick up per-diem shifts
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care skills including bathing, feeding, and toileting assistance
• Vital sign measurement and accurate documentation
• Infection control practices and safe handling of PPE
• Safe transfer and mobility techniques
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
• Professional, empathetic bedside manner and strong observational skills
