Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x10 day shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (four 10-hour day shifts per week); On-call 1 day per week (assigned) and every 4th/5th weekend — weekend on-call window Fri 6:00 PM - Mon 7:30 AM; approximately one Saturday per month included as part of the scheduled 4 shifts/week. (Day with rotating on-call weekends)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert peri-procedural nursing care in the cardiac cath lab, including monitoring and managing patients during diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Administer and manage IV therapies, blood products and procedural sedation monitoring with attention to safety and comfort
- Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and hemodynamic changes, initiating appropriate interventions and collaborating with the team
- Assist with a wide range of cath lab procedures including left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, stent placement, IABP/Impella management and rotablator procedures
- Maintain meticulous infection prevention practices and procedural documentation in Epic
- Support interdisciplinary care by communicating effectively with physicians, anesthesia, radiology, respiratory therapy and other support services
- Float to EP or IR labs as needed within scope to meet facility needs and ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly during assigned on-call periods to support urgent cases
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license in hand (required for auto-offer)
- Minimum: 2 years of relevant clinical experience (Cath Lab experience strongly preferred)
- BLS and ACLS required
- Familiarity with Epic charting (charting in Epic is required)
- Ability to monitor procedural sedation and manage airway/ventilator issues when applicable
- Comfortable with invasive cardiac monitoring (Swan-Ganz, PA lines) and device management (IABP, Impella)
- Willingness to float to EP or IR labs and participate in on-call weekend coverage
- First-timers accepted (per job data) — strong candidates encouraged to apply
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures (PCI, stent placement, left/right heart cath)
- IV therapy, central venous access familiarity and blood product administration
- Monitoring and management of procedural sedation and end-tidal CO2
- Dysrhythmia recognition and acute management; antiarrhythmic and emergency medication knowledge
- Sheath removal, topical hemostasis and activated clotting time (ACT) monitoring
- Experience with special equipment: Impella, IABP, rotablator, laser and shockwave devices
- Infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions/PPE
- Proficient charting/documentation in Epic
