Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling with every other weekend and 1 summer and 1 winter holiday required, standby call required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Attend deliveries as the baby nurse providing expert newborn care
Monitor and care for newborns requiring phototherapy, respiratory support, and treatment for hypoglycemia or sepsis
Start and maintain IVs while assisting with umbilical line placement
Flex between Special Care Nursery and postpartum assignments as unit needs change
Transfer infants to higher levels of care when clinically indicated
Support families through the critical early days of newborn life

Qualifications

Active Washington RN license or compact license
NRP and BLS certifications required
Skilled in attending deliveries as the baby nurse
Experience with Bubble CPAP, Hi-Flow, and IV start/maintenance preferred
Ability to flex between NICU Level 2 and postpartum couplet care

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency with CPAP, BiPAP, and Hi-Flow respiratory support
Comfort managing phototherapy, withdrawal, and sepsis protocols
Strong assessment skills for newborns and postpartum patients
Ability to titrate drips including D5W and TPN
Excellent communication and family-centered care approach
