Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate oncology nursing care to patients on the 8S Oncology unit
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor for reactions
• Replace blood and electrolytes as needed
• Perform CHG baths and linen changes every 24 hours
• Maintain strict intake and output records
• Change dressings every 7 days and lines/caps every 96 hours
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of RNs and PCTs
• Float to Hemeonc and bone marrow transplant units as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact state
• At least 1 year of oncology nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Hemonc background preferred

• Chemotherapy administration
• Blood product replacement
• Electrolyte management
• Infection control precautions (neutropenic)
• EMR proficiency (Meditech)
