Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care during cardiovascular surgical procedures including CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy
• Serve as a circulating or scrub nurse, ensuring the operating room is prepared and sterile
• Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia during surgery, responding quickly to changes
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document procedures accurately in the Cerner charting system

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Experience with CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy procedures
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and sterile technique
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with OR equipment and instrumentation
