Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures, keeping everything running smoothly
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms to ensure a clean, safe environment
• Take and process X-rays and dental photos as directed
• Update and maintain patient records using Denticon software
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care with a friendly, reassuring approach
• Provide excellent chairside support and anticipate the needs of the care team

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or willing to obtain certification
• Current Maryland dental radiography certification or ability to obtain it
• Previous orthodontic experience is great, but a positive attitude and eagerness to learn matter just as much
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Strong communication skills and a passion for patient care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Familiarity with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
• Understanding of dental terminology and accurate record-keeping
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a warm chairside manner
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
