Registered Respiratory Therapist - Travel
Location: Petoskey, Michigan
Start Date: 09-28-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week; every other weekend required; no on-call
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor the respiratory status of patients, adjusting therapy plans based on their changing needs
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy with compassion and precision
- Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators to ensure optimal ventilation and oxygenation for critically ill patients
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to create personalized respiratory care plans
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly
Qualifications
- 2+ years of recent RRT experience - required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications - required
- Active Michigan respiratory therapy license or willingness to obtain one
- Travel experience preferred - bring your sense of adventure
- A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of respiratory therapy modalities including mechanical ventilation and airway management
- Skill in interpreting blood gases and adjusting therapy accordingly
- Comfortable using electronic medical records for accurate documentation
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially in urgent situations
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet fluctuating patient needs
