Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate physical therapy services to skilled nursing residents
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist residents with exercises and activities to improve mobility and function
- Document patient progress accurately and timely
- Collaborate with the therapy team and nursing staff to ensure quality care
- Educate residents and families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Mexico or compact privilege
- 1-3 years of experience in skilled nursing or similar setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a therapy team
- CPR certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and modalities
- Understanding of documentation standards and regulations
- Ability to adapt to changing resident needs
- Team collaboration and patient-centered care
- Proficiency with electronic medical records
