Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Take and develop dental x-rays, and create impressions for orthodontic appliances.
- Educate patients and their families on orthodontic care and oral hygiene practices.
- Maintain accurate patient records and schedule appointments as needed.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred
- Current CPR certification
- X-ray certification as required by Maryland state regulations
- Experience working in an orthodontic practice is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic terminology, procedures, and instrumentation
- Proficiency with dental software and digital imaging systems
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent patient-centered care skills
