Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth patient experience
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
• Maintain a clean, organized treatment area and manage patient records
• Support the front office team with scheduling and patient communication as needed

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Dental Assistant certification or eligibility to obtain one
• Certification in dental radiography (X-rays)
• Prior orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification is a plus
• A friendly, compassionate approach to patient care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and infection control standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Basic computer skills for patient records and scheduling
