Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality dental hygiene care to patients
• Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing
• Assess patients' oral health and accurately document findings
• Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Assist the dentist during procedures and examinations
• Maintain strict sterilization and infection control standards
• Screen patients for oral diseases and contribute to treatment planning

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong clinical and patient assessment skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team member
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and sterilization techniques
• Skill in patient education and oral hygiene instruction
• Proficiency in dental radiography and safety procedures
• Attention to detail and strong documentation practices
• Ability to build rapport with patients and ease dental anxiety
