Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a diverse mix of medical, surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients in a fast-paced Stepdown/PCU unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, escalating changes in patient status
• Titrate IV drips including Heparin, Cardizem, and Nitro as ordered
• Collaborate with charge nurse, physicians, and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Manage frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges with efficiency and compassion
• Educate patients and families on conditions and post-discharge care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• 2+ years of Stepdown/PCU or acute care nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• EPIC charting experience is a plus
• Ability to pass unit orientation exam with 90% score
• Valid driver's license
• Must live outside 50 miles from facility and not be employed by CommonSpirit

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• IV drip titration (Heparin, Cardizem, Nitro)
• Critical thinking for high-acuity patients
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to handle high patient flow and quick turnover
