Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert care to adults and geriatric patients in a fast-paced PCU/stepdown unit
• Monitor and titrate intravenous drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
• Closely observe patients with cardiac, nephrology, stroke, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring needs
• Collaborate with charge nurses, techs, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure positive patient outcomes
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab when needed, bringing your critical thinking wherever it is most valuable
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC while prioritizing patient safety and comfort

Qualifications

• Active RN license and ability to submit at time of application
• Minimum 2 years of PCU or stepdown experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA)
• Driver's license required at submittal to verify distance from facility
• Must pass the open-book orientation exam with a 90% or higher
• A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a knack for problem-solving

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in titrating drips like Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
• Solid understanding of cardiac, stroke, nephrology, and diabetes patient care
• Comfortable with continuous EEG monitoring and telemetry
• EPIC charting proficiency
• Critical thinking and quick decision-making in high-acuity situations
• Teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to helping others succeed
