Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, primarily 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with schedule variations; includes weekend and holiday rotation.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population on medical-surgical and telemetry units
Float across multiple facilities within Zone 1, covering a 60-mile radius around Colorado Springs
Monitor cardiac rhythms, titrate heparin drips, and manage patients with various diagnoses
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Adapt quickly to different unit environments and patient acuities, from neuro to ortho to oncology
Step into charge nurse role when needed, supporting the team and maintaining safe patient assignments

Qualifications

Active RN license in Colorado or compact state (NLC)
Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Neuro experience highly preferred
Willingness to float across a 60-mile zone with no home base facility

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in cardiac monitoring and titration of heparin
Strong assessment skills for patients with cardiac, neuro, oncology, orthopedic, and post-surgical conditions
Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on acuity
Excellent communication and flexibility for Just-In-Time scheduling
Experience with ventilator equipment, CPAP, BiPAP preferred
