Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings for cardiac and stroke patients
• Titrate intravenous medications including heparin, insulin, and octreotide
• Collaborate with charge nurses, techs, and the interdisciplinary team to manage patient care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Respond to code situations and utilize equipment such as LUCAS machines and Hoyer lifts
• Float to Med/Surg, ICU, or ED as needed to support patient care across the hospital

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Driver's license required at submittal (to verify 50-mile radius rule)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU or telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable with a high-flow unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Must pass an open-book exam with 90% during orientation (resources provided)
