Location: Lufkin, Texas

End Date: 09-21-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM, every other weekend and holidays required
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD on a busy 18-bed Med/Tele unit
- Monitor telemetry and confidently read cardiac strips to keep patients safe
- Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and educators who are always there to support you
- Float to sister Med/Surg units when needed, broadening your skills and making an impact across the hospital
- Partner with PCTs and respiratory therapists to manage CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen patients
Qualifications
- Active Texas or compact RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Ability to read telemetry strips
- Willingness to float to other Med/Surg units
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
- Managing patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD
- Excellent communication with patients, families, and the care team
- Time management in a fast-paced 6:1 ratio environment
