Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Nights, Monday-Sunday, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, every other weekend, half of winter holidays, rare floating to medsurg

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $75 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate care to pregnant women, newborns, and gyn patients in a close-knit rural L&D unit
Triage patients efficiently and serve as the essential baby catcher and transition nurse for safe deliveries
Titrate drips like Pitocin with precision to support labor progression
Monitor fetal hearts using OBIX system and AWHONN guidelines
Collaborate closely with on-call OB and anesthesia teams for seamless teamwork
Take on charge nurse duties when needed in this dynamic two-nurse shift environment

Qualifications

Active RN license with at least 1 year of L&D experience
LDRP training required
Certifications in ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
Comfortable functioning independently in a rural hospital setting

Education

BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in triage, baby catching, and newborn transition
Proficiency titrating Pitocin drips
Familiarity with EPIC charting and OBIX EFM system
Strong assessment skills for low-volume births (0-2 per day)
