Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care and continuous assessment for ICU patients, ensuring safety and timely interventions
• Administer medications and safely titrate drips (vasopressors, paralytics, sedatives, analgesics) following protocols
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and hemodynamic data; troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment as needed
• Respond rapidly and effectively to codes and Rapid Response Team (RRT) events
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, residents and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute care plans
• Perform and manage advanced monitoring (CVP, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, EV-1000, ICP) with unit training available
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and support unit flow and communication
• Float to other inpatient units as needed (excluding Maternity/NICU) to support patient care demands

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required for submission
• Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to confirm 50-mile radius eligibility)
• Ability to titrate drips, interpret telemetry strips (Draeger monitoring) and troubleshoot vents
• Must be able to pass an open-book skills exam during orientation (90% pass required)
• Candidates may NOT be currently full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit facility (including CHI/Dignity)

Education

• Active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and patient assessment
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring
• Medication administration and drip titration
• Ventilator troubleshooting and respiratory support knowledge
• Code and RRT response experience
• Familiarity with CRRT, IABP/Impella, Swan-Ganz, ICP monitoring and rapid transfuser equipment (training available)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Strong critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills
