Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered nursing care to adults on the behavioral health unit using trauma-informed approaches
• Use de-escalation and behavioral crisis management techniques to maintain safety and therapeutic rapport
• Accurately document patient care in Cerner and maintain clear, collaborative communication with the care team
• Manage patient assignments within unit ratios and prioritize care effectively during busy census periods
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Float to the Youth Hospital as needed, adapting care approaches for different patient populations
• Participate in unit-level safety and quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes and experience

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin nursing license required at time of submission (RN)
• Active BLS required at time of submission
• CPI certification required or willingness to obtain CPI within 45 days of start
• 2+ years of recent behavioral health nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Availability for 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Ability to work collaboratively, apply trauma-informed care principles, and use strong de-escalation skills
