Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations accurately and efficiently
• Position patients and equipment with care, compassion, and attention to safety
• Operate imaging equipment while following radiation safety protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to deliver clear, usable images
• Maintain patient records and documentation in a timely, compliant manner
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, calibrated, and ready for use
• Provide patient education and reassurance throughout the imaging process

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiography preferred or equivalent credential
• State licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in Louisiana
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in a hospital radiology department is a plus
• Strong patient-care skills and professional communication
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning

Education

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
• Graduate of an accredited radiography program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with diagnostic x-ray equipment and imaging techniques
• Knowledge of radiation safety standards and infection control
• Comfortable with PACS and basic radiology information systems
• Good anatomical knowledge and ability to follow physician protocols
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality images
• Team-oriented with good interpersonal and documentation skills
