Medical Assistant

Location: St. Louis, MO

Start Date: 04-29-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem 4-hour shifts, day assignments (exact start/end times vary by assignment; common windows include 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM), days as needed; orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Greet and prepare patients for appointments with warmth and professionalism
Obtain and document vital signs and patient histories accurately
Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and supplies for clinical staff
Assist clinicians during exams and minor procedures as needed
Document clinical information in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked clinical environment
Participate in orientation and training to maintain skills and compliance

Qualifications

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent preferred; relevant clinical training welcomed
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable with patient-facing clinical tasks and documentation
Professional communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Prior ambulatory or clinic experience is a plus

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certificate or diploma preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in taking and recording vital signs accurately
Familiarity with electronic medical records and basic documentation
Strong infection control and clinical safety practices
Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a clinical setting
Team-oriented mindset and strong patient communication skills
