Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians with ambulatory care tasks and patient flow to keep the clinic running smoothly
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure necessary supplies and instruments are ready
• Obtain and document patient vital signs and basic histories accurately
• Support procedures and treatments per clinic protocol while maintaining patient comfort and safety
• Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation in the medical record
• Coordinate patient check-in/check-out and help schedule follow-up appointments
• Communicate compassionately with patients and family members to provide a positive care experience
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to stay current and effective

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited MA program preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain during orientation
• Prior experience in an ambulatory clinic or outpatient setting is a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Comfortable with basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, injections, or EKGs if required by the site
• Basic computer skills and ability to document in an electronic health record

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Medical Assistant certificate or diploma preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of ambulatory clinic workflows and patient triage
• Proficient in taking accurate vital signs and documenting clinical information
• Familiarity with infection control and universal precautions
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced outpatient setting
• Clear verbal and written communication with patients and clinical staff
