Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments to identify areas of need and service preferences
• Gather and integrate information from all available sources including consumer self-reports and family input
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to assess consumer motivation
• Provide consumers and families with complete information about available services and supports
• Assist consumers with initiating the person-centered planning process
• Develop Safety Plans based on needs identified during assessment
• Facilitate referrals for psychological testing and discovery groups when needed
• Promote utilization of group and support services
• Participate in clinical supervision, case consultations and team meetings
• Document all service activity and maintain productivity standards

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling with corresponding State of Michigan licensure
• At least one year post-Master's experience providing mental health treatment services to adults with severe mental illness
• Full license highly preferred
• CAADC credential or active MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire
• QMHP/QIDDP credential within 120 days of hire
• Ability to engage and develop therapeutic alliances with adult mental health consumers

Education

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling

• Therapeutic alliance building with adults experiencing severe mental illness
• Treatment planning and service coordination
• Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse experiences
• Motivational interviewing techniques
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Person-Centered Planning and Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment principles
