Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures including general, gynecologic, vascular, thoracic, orthopedic, and neurosurgery.
• Prepare operating rooms and sterilize equipment to ensure a safe surgical environment.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments and supplies efficiently during procedures.
• Precept and train new staff members, sharing your expertise to build a strong team.
• Maintain strict sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols at all times.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced OR setting.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5 years of current CST experience - this is non-negotiable.
• Active NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted).
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Previous travel experience required - first-time travelers will not be considered.
• Must have reliable personal transportation - firm requirement.
• Two recent supervisory signed references required - non-negotiable.
• Ability to take call and work weekends and holidays as needed.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in general, gynecologic, vascular, thoracic, orthopedic (including total joints), neuro/head/spine, and trauma procedures.
• Experience with precepting and training others.
• Familiarity with C-sections, ENT, plastics, and DaVinci robotic surgery preferred.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse electronic health record highly preferred.
• Strong independent work skills and ability to adapt to different surgical teams.
