Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist chairside during examinations and procedures
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays)
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records in Denticon
• Support a smooth patient flow in a fast-paced orthodontic office

Qualifications

• Certified orthodontic dental assistant (required)
• Current Maryland dental assistant registration or ability to obtain
• Prior experience in an orthodontic setting
• Proficiency with dental software, ideally Denticon
• Strong patient care and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Understanding of dental radiography techniques and safety
• Familiarity with infection control and sterilization standards
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Compassionate and professional patient interaction
