Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist chairside during examinations and procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate patient records in Denticon
- Support a smooth patient flow in a fast-paced orthodontic office
Qualifications
- Certified orthodontic dental assistant (required)
- Current Maryland dental assistant registration or ability to obtain
- Prior experience in an orthodontic setting
- Proficiency with dental software, ideally Denticon
- Strong patient care and communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
- Understanding of dental radiography techniques and safety
- Familiarity with infection control and sterilization standards
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Compassionate and professional patient interaction
