Certified Nursing Assistant

Location: Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as scheduled), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
Take and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
Support safe transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics
Document care accurately and timely to maintain continuity and compliance
Communicate effectively with nurses, residents, and families to promote positive outcomes
Maintain infection control practices and a clean, safe environment

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (per state requirements)
Active/clear background checks and any facility-required screenings
Demonstrated patient care experience preferred but new graduates welcome
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work evening shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living
Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
Safe resident transfer and mobility techniques
Familiarity with infection control and PPE use
Good observational skills and ability to report changes clearly
Basic computer/charting skills or willingness to learn facility systems
