Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during c-sections, vaginal deliveries, and circumcisions
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and sterile fields
• Monitor patients' vital signs and report changes to nursing staff
• Provide compassionate care and comfort to mothers and newborns
• Document patient information accurately in EPIC
• Ensure operating rooms are stocked and ready for procedures

Qualifications

• Holds an active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT certification
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• At least 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• CNA certification preferred, but not required, for assisting with patient care
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check
• Willingness to adhere to facility policies, including artificial nail restrictions

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• Completion of an accredited medical personnel program (CNA, MA, LPN, EMT) may be accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in sterile technique and surgical assisting
• Skilled in patient care, vital signs monitoring, and documentation
• Knowledge of OB/GYN procedures and instrumentation
• Comfortable with EPIC charting system
• Ability to maintain inventory and organize supplies
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
