Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist with procedures, from initial consultations to adjustments and retainers
• Prepare and organize treatment rooms, ensuring instruments are sterilized and ready
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions for accurate treatment planning
• Provide friendly, reassuring chairside support to patients of all ages
• Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
• Keep patient records and Denticon charts up to date while maintaining a smooth workflow

Qualifications

• Current orthodontic assistant certification (required)
• Maryland state dental assistant certification or eligibility to obtain one
• CPR/BLS certification strongly preferred
• Previous experience in an orthodontic or dental office is a big plus
• A genuine love for working with patients and creating great smiles

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Proficiency with Denticon or similar dental practice management software
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, approachable bedside manner
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization best practices
