Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough dental cleanings and preventive care to patients
• Take and develop dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative practices
• Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive agents
• Assist the dentist during procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
• Document patient care accurately and maintain up-to-date records
• Sterilize instruments and ensure a clean, welcoming operatory

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Dental Hygienist license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Radiography certification (Virginia requirements met)
• Strong communication and patient-education skills
• Ability to work the 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM schedule
• A warm, caring approach to patient care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques
• Proficiency in taking digital x-rays
• Understanding of infection control protocols
• Excellent interpersonal and patient-education skills
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation abilities
