Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures
• Prepare patients for treatment and ensure their comfort
• Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Provide patients with oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care
• Manage patient records and update treatment plans
• Support the clinical team with scheduling and patient flow

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or willingness to obtain
• X-ray certification in Maryland (or ability to obtain)
• Previous experience as a dental assistant, preferably in orthodontics
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to providing excellent patient care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and instruments
• Proficiency with dental software and patient management systems
• Understanding of sterilization techniques and infection control
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Empathy and patience when working with patients
