Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures and ensure their comfort throughout each visit
• Assist the orthodontist during exams, adjustments, and other treatments
• Take and process dental X-rays and digital impressions
• Sterilize and organize instruments to maintain a safe, clean environment
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes in Denticon

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in Maryland, or willing to obtain certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• Radiology certification to take dental X-rays
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
• A warm, patient-focused attitude and excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of dental instruments, materials, and sterilization protocols
• Proficiency with dental practice management software, including Denticon
• Ability to anticipate the orthodontist's needs and assist seamlessly
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Compassionate and clear communication with patients and families
