Speech Language Pathologist - Acute Care
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Start Date: 08-24-2026
End Date: 11-23-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (rotating weekends; 3 full weekends per 13-week contract)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with neuro, critical care, and trauma diagnoses in an acute care setting
- Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans to improve patient outcomes
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate high-quality patient care
- Document patient progress accurately in EPIC electronic health records
- Manage a daily caseload of 7-8 patients per 8-hour shift, ensuring thorough and compassionate care
Qualifications
- 2+ years of acute care speech-language pathology experience
- Current Colorado Speech-Language Pathologist license
- CCC-SLP certificate from ASHA
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Experience with EPIC charting system
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical evaluation and treatment skills for acute care patients
- Working knowledge of neuro, critical care, and trauma patient populations
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records
- Effective caseload management and time management skills
