Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the cardiovascular operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterile and ready.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during complex cardiac surgeries including CABG, TAVR, and valve replacements.
• Maintain a meticulous sterile field and adhere to strict infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and ensure smooth operations.
• Manage surgical instruments and supplies, including inventory and sterilization.
• Document and manage patient care details accurately in the Epic EMR system.

Qualifications

• BLS Certification required
• At least 2 years of cardiac surgery experience
• Experience with CABG, TAVR, and valve replacement cases
• COVID Vaccine required
• Crisis Protocol Approved

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Understanding of sterile technique and OR protocols
• Ability to respond within 30 minutes for call shifts
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
