Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, individualized nursing care to labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal status using advanced fetal monitoring equipment
• Administer medications and treatments safely, using Pyxis supply stations
• Document care accurately in Meditech and OBIX systems
• Support and educate patients and families through the birthing process
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license (or ability to obtain one)
• Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience
• Current BLS, NRP, STABLE, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications
• AED certification
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Willingness to complete medication testing upon arrival

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of the nursing process and primary nursing principles
• Skilled in fetal monitoring and interpreting fetal heart patterns
• Proficient with Meditech, OBIX, EPIC, and Pyxis systems
• Excellent critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
• Effective communication with patients, families, and team members
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced LDRP unit
