Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to intermediate cardiac and vascular patients, including downgraded CVICU patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, identifying changes and responding quickly
• Titrate and manage critical drips such as amiodarone, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, epinephrine, and cardizem
• Collaborate with a robust interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, intensivists, and cardiologists
• Support post-surgical patients in their first 24 hours with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Float to same-level and lower-acuity units as needed, sharing your skills across the hospital

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of experience in cardiac stepdown, ICU, or similar acute care setting
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with telemetry interpretation and drip titration
• Valid driver's license (required for the 50-mile radius rule)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac telemetry
• Skilled in titrating IV cardiac drips and managing blood pressure medications
• Comfortable with EPIC charting system
• Strong assessment skills for cardiac and vascular patients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
