Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage students/patients with compassion and clinical accuracy
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to orders
• Document clinical encounters clearly and thoroughly in the health record
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and the care team to support student health
• Provide health education and guidance to students and caregivers
• Respond calmly and effectively to urgent situations and emergencies
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care to ensure continuity

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to practice as an RN in California preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Comfortable working independently in a school/community health setting
• Strong communication skills for interacting with students, families, and staff
• Reliable, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and triage skills for pediatric and adolescent populations
• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
• Patient/family education and care coordination
• Infection control principles and safe clinical practices
• Teamwork, organization, and good clinical judgment
