Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients
- Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex medication regimens
- Perform thorough assessments and prioritize care in high-acuity situations
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans and recovery expectations
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact state as applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
- Prior ICU or critical care experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage complex patients
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and respiratory care for critically ill patients
- Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive infusions
- Critical care medication administration and infusion pump management
- Proficient charting in electronic health record systems
- Infection control practices and ICU-specific protocols
- Rapid assessment, triage, and crisis management abilities
